First Impression Finish
High-gloss 24%-solids floor finish for VCT, terrazzo, asphalt tile
First Impression Finish
First Impression Finish is a high-gloss, high-solids, exceptionally durable floor finish that maintains its shine with minimal effort. Built around a Damon Industries concept: combine large and small polymer molecules so the finish gets the best of both — easier stripping and high gloss from the larger molecules, better bonding and leveling from the smaller ones. At 24% solids it requires fewer coats than competing finishes, saving labor on every install.
What makes it different
- Dual-molecular-weight polymer. Engineered for both gloss and bond — fewer compromise calls when picking between durability and shine.
- 24% solids. Above the industry average — fewer coats to build a working film.
- High slip resistance. Safe on most floors per ASTM D-2407 testing.
- Fast drying. Faster cycle times mean more rooms turned in a single shift.
What it isn’t for

Application directions
Step-by-step instructions. Read all steps and any caution-flagged steps in full before starting.
-
1
Prep — strip and rinse
Floors must be clean, dry, and free of old finish or wax. Strip thoroughly using any Damon stripper; rinse until no residue remains.
-
2
Use a clean mop and lined bucket
Use a clean, broken-in finish mop. Line the bucket with a trash liner to prevent contamination and ease clean-up.
-
3
4-5 medium coats
Better results come from 4-5 medium coats than 2-3 heavy ones. Let each coat dry before the next.
-
4
Maintain — neutral cleaner daily
Dust mop daily. For damp/wet mopping use Ultimet Neutral Cleaner, Ultra-Gloss Neutral Cleaner, Da-Clean Neutral, or D-C Plus.
-
5
Restore with Final Result
Use Final Result restorer with ultra-high-speed (1,000-3,000 RPM) burnishers to extend the time between recoats.
